When I asked them what their plans were for Photo-Paint they said it was so integrated with Draw that they will likely continue it as part of the Draw suite.
They were at Photo Expo in NYC, a pro level show, and they were showing Snapfire and PSPXI- two amature level apps. I don't care if their high end product is called Photo Paint or PaintShopPro, I just want a single product with the best features of both incorporated into a single title I think Corel needs to trim their product line, we (the consumers) don't know which Corel products are going to be around for the long term and which are transitional. You got to wonder just how many separate photo products Corel can support at one time. PLUS they have their other graphics products. That makes 4 separate photo editor products with a high level of overlap on features and targeted audience.
PLUS, don't forget the 'editor for dummies' that replaced PhotoPaint V9 in the Essentials package. PLUS, Corel Paint has also been very successful, and let's face it, when you come down to it, THAT's really just ANOTHER high end Photo editor with some extra painting features. I mean, At the high end, they already had PhotoPaint (originally, a very good editor in it's own right, but which had been negelectd by Corel during their time of financial troubles) Looking back, I don't see any other possible outcome for PSP.
